Steel City has opened a new NYC store in the neighborhood of Rockaway Park in the heart of the Bronx.
The company, founded in 2007 by a team of two men, says it has been growing its NYC operations for three years and plans to open three more stores in the area by the end of the year.
“We’re excited to announce that we’re opening up a new retail outlet in Rockaway Heights, the heartland of the City of New York,” the company wrote in a statement to Business Insider.
Steel City has a history in New York City and is one of the city’s top retailers.
In 2015, it closed its first store in Greenwich Village, a neighborhood that is known for its food and fashion scene.
The company said it would close its second Rockaway store in 2019, and it would open three other locations over the next five years.
More than 1,300 employees are expected to work at the new store, according to the New York Post.
