Virginia City, Va., officials are looking at the possibility of opening a new shopping plaza in the city that has been a mainstay of the city for decades.
A community meeting was held Wednesday night to discuss the concept.
City officials say the new shopping area will be open to the public starting this summer, and they hope to start construction on the project in the fall.
It would include a large retail space, a restaurant, and a retail building that would be used to serve as a shop, shop, or entertainment venue.
It’s also the location of a community center, with a meeting place for the community.
“It’s been a city fixture since the 1800s, and we’re very excited about opening it up to the community,” said Virginia City Mayor Chris Eudaly.
“This will be a great location for our local business community to come together, and for us to share our passion for the outdoors.”
The new plaza will be located on the east side of the City Hall plaza, where the new Virginia City Public Library is located.
Officials have not yet decided on the location, but the public can expect the plaza to be in the center of the plaza, between the new library and City Hall.
The plan is also to extend the plaza out to the south, across the Virginia City Bridge, and eventually onto the waterfront.
